Here are some helpful tips when receiving a massage:
1. Don’t feel like you have to talk during the session. If you talk during the session then you tend to use muscles that you ordinarily would not use and you do not receive the full benefit of the session. If your therapist is chatty feel free to let them know that you do not want to talk and they will keep quiet.
2. Take deep breaths during your session to aid your muscles to relax. If you are feeling slight discomfort you should breath into the pain and the pain should dissipate.
3. Undress to your comfort level. You will be covered with a sheet and blanket at all times during your session. Your therapist will only undrape the part of your body that they are working on at the time and you are never fully exposed on the table.
